December

Claire Hollemans Roscow, who was an undergraduate student, died Dec. 28 in Denver, Colo.

Rune Nielson, who was a visiting scholar in engineering, died Dec. 18 in Palo Alto.

Seong Ho Choi, who was a post doctoral fellow in chemical engineering, died Dec. 4 in San Jose.

November

Suvan Gerlach, an employee at the School of Engineering, died Nov. 24 in San Jose.

Nathan Oliveira, who was an emeritus professor of Studio Arts, died Nov. 13 in Stanford.

John Tinker, a lecturer in the Program in Writing and Rhetoric, died Nov. 4 in San Francisco.

October

Isabella Abbott, who was a professor emerita of biology, died Oct. 28 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

September

Tjeerd Hendrik van Andel, who was a professor emeritus of geology and geophysics, died Sept. 17 in Cambridge, England.

Otis Pease, who was a Stanford historian and a former member of the Board of Trustees, died Sept. 6 in Seattle, Wash.

August

Nelee Langmuir, a lecturer in French, died Aug. 11 in Stanford.

July

Bill Lane, who was a Stanford benefactor, died July 31 in Stanford.

Stephen Schneider, a professor of biology, died July 19 en route from Sweden to London.

Chris Chan, who was a graduate student in political science, died July 18 in Yosemite National Park.

Patrick Burke, who worked in the Department of Electrical Engineering, died July 15 in Stanford.

June

Barry Chai, who was a graduate student in computer science, died June 8 in Fresno County, Calif.

May

Kim Hess, a food service manager at Lagunita Dining Hall, died May 15 in San Jose.

Milton van Dyke, who was a professor emeritus of mechanical engineering and of aeronautics and astronautics, died May 10 in Stanford.

April

Leo Holub, who founded Stanford’s photography program, died April 27 in San Francisco.

Howard Williams, who was a professor emeritus of law, died April 14 in Palo Alto.

John Phillips, a former director of the Hopkins Marine Station, died April 5 in Hawaii.

Roanak Desai, who was a student in the Graduate School of Business, died April 3 in Bangor, Maine.

February

James T. S. Porterfield, who was a professor emeritus of finance, died Feb. 28 in Stanford.

George Dekker, who was a professor emeritus of English, died Feb. 25 in Stanford.

Yichao Wang, a visiting graduate researcher, died Feb. 19 in Stanford.

Nancy Munger, who was a former member of the Board of Trustees, died Feb. 6 in Los Angeles.

Anita Mozley, a former curator of photography at the Stanford Museum of Art, died Jan. 23 in Menlo Park, Calif.
